October 14 is the annual feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We remember the event of 910. Constantinople was besieged by enemies. Residents gathered to pray in the Blachernae Church - and the Most Holy Lady Herself, surrounded by a host of saints and ethereal Heavenly Powers, prayed to the Lord in the church for the residents of the city.
