THE PRIMATER OF THE BELARUSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH CONGRATULATED TEACHERS ON TEACHERS’ DAYtranslated

October 4, 2026 · 1 min read

Dear teachers, educators, everyone who devoted themselves to the noble work of enlightening and educating the younger generation!

I cordially congratulate you on Teacher's Day. Your work is not just a profession, but a high and sacrificial service. You create the soul of the people, lay a moral foundation in the hearts of children, on which the future of our native country depends.

The Belarusian land has always especially honored educational work, and in this we are inspired by the examples of our heavenly patrons. The Venerable Euphrosyne of Polotsk and Saint Cyril of Turov always remain an example of true service to knowledge and virtue for us. With their life feats they demonstrated that true enlightenment of the mind is inseparable from the enlightenment of the soul, and love for books and teaching leads a person to God.

Today, dear teachers, you continue this great tradition. We see how much strength, warmth and soul you give to each child, and we deeply appreciate your patience and wisdom. On this holiday, I prayerfully wish you, dear teachers, God’s inexhaustible help in your work, good health, spiritual peace, grateful students and parents. May the intercession of St. Euphrosyne, St. Cyril and all the saints in the land...

Thank you for these words. The memory of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk and Saint Cyril of Turov remained in my mind - here in Iasi, at Sunday school, we also try to bind the prayer book exactly as the text says. May God give health to all the teachers who still have patience with our children.

Thanks for the nice card. I especially liked the mention of venerable Euphrosynia of Polotsk and Saint Cyril of Turovski – in our church choir we often sing a troparion for Euphrosynia and we always say that she taught both children and monks. May God help all teachers, especially those who work with younger children, like my daughter when she was little.
