Poetry, travel and faith: a meeting dedicated to Nikolai Gumilev was held at a Sunday school in Bugrytranslated

A creative meeting dedicated to the life and work of the Russian poet Nikolai Gumilyov took place at the Sunday school at the Church of the August Icon of the Mother of God in Bugry.
Getting to know poetry became a reason for talking about the beauty of God's world, goodness, travel and the spiritual quest of man. Particular attention was paid to religious motives in the poet’s work.
The participants were given a presentation dedicated to the African cycle of works by Gumilyov. The children read and discussed the poems “Giraffe”, “Kangaroo”, “Backwater”, “Christ” and “The Word”, and became acquainted with the images and plots of his poetry. A thematic quiz helped consolidate the acquired knowledge.
During the creative part of the meeting, the guys made “Heart of a Traveler” postcards, did themed coloring books and wrote good wishes about the world and travel.
At the end, each participant received a memorable gift, and the young readers were awarded certificates of commendation for their active participation.
