The Celebration of the Naval Battle of Navarino at Pylos is brillianttranslated

Today in Pylos, the 196th Anniversary of the Naval Battle of Navarino was celebrated with particular splendor. The festive events began with the performance of a solemn doxology at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin, under the patronage of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Messinia Mr. Chrysostomos. This was followed by a Memorial Service at the Three Admirals Monument, laying of wreaths, while the day's eulogy was delivered by the Director of Primary Education of Messinia, Theofania Siouti.

Afterwards, a parade was held in front of the authorities at the city's port.

The Metropolitan of Messinia stated in his statement that: "European cooperation and local solidarity is what is intended for Europe itself and its future. The feast of the Naval Battle of Navarino sends the message that when peoples cooperate, when states are in solidarity with each other, then they can and do overcome any danger and any problem."
