With feelings of "supreme joy and overwhelming gratitude" to our Holy God, the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Dimitrios Neo Faliros of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus welcomed on Friday, October 16, 2026, the Reverence and Holy Icon of the Virgin Mary of Eleusis from the Holy Monastery of Stomio, which came to Attica for the first time. The Holy Icon was welcomed by the head of the clergy and people with due honors by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Piraeus, Mr. Seraphim, supported by the Theophilus Bishop Achelou, Mr. Niphon, assistant Bishop and Proto-Secretary of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus, in the courtyard of the Holy Church. The Holy Reverence was celebrated by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery, Archimandrite Maximos.
