Outstanding performance at the European Geography Olympiad: Romania's team won first place among nationstranslated

Romania ranked first among nations, with five gold and three silver medals, at the European Geography Olympiad held in Varna, in Bulgaria, informs the Ministry of Education.
Our country was represented both in the junior and senior categories. The Olympic batch was coordinated by Fiscutean Mihaela Cornelia, Iasi National College and Alexandru Mihaela Florina, Ministry of Education and Research.
In juniors, Romania was represented by Mateșescu-Pașcalău Bogdan-Andrei, "C. D. Loga" National College Timișoara, gold medal; Toma Tudor, International Theoretical High School of Informatics Bucharest, gold medal; Eftime Matei, National College "Dr. Ioan Meșotă" Brașov, silver medal; Perhinschi Gabriel, National College "Emil Racoviță" Iasi, silver medal.
The senior team was formed: Dumitrescu David-Mihai, "Carol I" National College Craiova - gold medal (1st place in the ranking - the highest score in the competition); Aramă Alexandra-Mihaela, Iasi National College – gold medal; Păun Eduard-Ionuț, "Unirea" National College, Focșani - gold medal; Merăuță Ionuț, "Unirea" National College, Focșani - silver medal.
