October 22, 2020 – A Joyous New Tradition / New Joyful Tradition

Our parish recently received a piece of the relics of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Wonderworker for our church. With the Blessing of Archbishop Kirill of San Francisco, Archpriest Peter Perekrestov brought us this great shrine. The reliquary is attached to our painted icon of the saint - see photo.

Due to the unrest and disasters in our country and throughout the world, after each Liturgy we now take the icon with the relics to the middle of the church and serve a short prayer service, so that the Lord God, through prayers, is holy. John, gave us peace, prosperity, and health.
