Vicar Vicar Maximus the Danubian of the Diocese of Italy was ordained on Tuesday in the Parish of the "Holy 40 Martyrs of Sevastia" in Moncalieri, Italy. The council also included: Archbishop Athanasius of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Bishops Benedict of Salaj, Siluan of Italy, Timotei of Spain and Portugal, Macarius of Northern Europe and Nectarius of Ireland and Iceland; Vicar bishops Nichifor Botoșaneanul of the Archdiocese of Iasi, Nectarie de Bogdania of the Archdiocese of Chisinau, Marc Nemțeanul of the Archdiocese of Western Europe; and Vicar-Bishop Theophilus of Iberia of the Diocese of Spain and Portugal.

The order of ordination took place during the Holy Liturgy, and at the end of the service, His Holiness Father Maxim the Danubian received the episcopal insignia from His Holiness Father Joseph.

Να τον ευλογεί ο Θεός στον νέο του τόπο. Το ότι θέλει «μαζί-δουλειά, ενότητα και υπακοή» για το καλό του κλήρου και των πιστών ακούγεται πρακτικό και σωστό. Χαίρομαι που τόσοι πολλοί επίσκοποι από διαφορετικές χώρες ήταν εκεί μαζί του στη Μονκαλιέρι.

C’est bien qu’il insiste sur l’ensemble-lucrature et l’obéissance, ça évite bien des problèmes. La liturgie à Moncalieri avec tous ces évêques venus de tant d’endroits, ça devait être impressionnant. Que le Seigneur l’aide dans son nouveau service.
