Vicar Vicar Maximus the Danubian of the Diocese of Italy was ordained on Tuesday in the Parish of the "Holy 40 Martyrs of Sevastia" in Moncalieri, Italy. "I want the ministry I am starting to be one of working together, in unity and obedience, for the good of the clergy and the faithful," said the new hierarch.

The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Joseph of Western and Southern Europe.

The council also included: Archbishop Athanasius of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Bishops Benedict of Salaj, Siluan of Italy, Timotei of Spain and Portugal, Macarius of Northern Europe and Nectarius of Ireland and Iceland; Vicar bishops Nichifor Botoșaneanul of the Archdiocese of Iasi, Nectarie de Bogdania of the Archdiocese of Chisinau, Marc Nemțeanul of the Archdiocese of Western Europe; and Vicar-Bishop Theophilus of Iberia of the Diocese of Spain and Portugal.

The order of ordination took place during the Holy Liturgy, and at the end of the service, His Holiness Father Maxim the Danubian received the episcopal insignia from His Holiness Father Joseph.

God bless him in his new place. That he wants "work together, unity and obedience" for the good of the clergy and the faithful sounds practical and correct. I am glad that so many bishops from different countries were there with him in Montcalieri.

It’s good that he insists on all-lucrature and obedience, it avoids a lot of problems. The liturgy at Moncalieri with all these bishops coming from so many places must have been impressive. May the Lord help him in his new service.
