The Metropolitan of Thessaloniki on loss and hopetranslated

Among the most touching moments of the two days was the thematic section "Care for Life & Meaning", which was created in memory of Anna Maria, the 15-year-old who passed away suddenly in June in a car accident, and was dedicated to her parents, her classmates from the 7th Gymnasium of Thessaloniki and to all those who experience the loss. The speech of the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Mr. Filotheou, who approached the issue through faith and hope, also caused a special emotion. His mention of his intention to include Anna Maria in his prayers touched those present.

The starting point of the unit was a deeply human question: what do we say to a child when he loses a person so young? How do we face loss when there are no easy answers? Mrs. Rania Thraskia spoke in the first part of the section.

After His Eminence's speech, Maria Theodorelli offered the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki a picture of the Brigade Commander of Mandamados of Lesvos, inviting him to the island and emphasizing how lucky we all feel to have him near us.
