The Byzantine monument of Agios Georgios in Kurbinovo was visited by Lina Mendonitranslated

One of the most important Byzantine monuments in the Balkans, Saint George of Kurbinovo with its rare frescoes dating from 1191 AD and located in the homonymous village of Prespa in North Macedonia, was visited in Skopje by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni immediately after the completion of the meeting of the three Ministers of Culture, Greece, Skopje and Albania regarding the signing of the declaration of joint nomination of Prespa to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lina Mendoni was welcomed to the Byzantine monument by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of North Macedonia, Sedat Sulejmani.
The European Center for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki (EKBMM) undertook the preparation of the study, the responsibility for the maintenance and restoration of the rare frescoes of the Byzantine church of Agios Georgios, after an invitation from the Ministry of Culture of the neighboring country, after consultation with the Greek Ministry of Culture, which financed a significant part of the restoration work of the monument.
