August 10, 2026 · 1 min read

In the presence of the Mayor of Sifnos, the Deputy Mayor and Municipal Councilors of Sifnos, the President of the Association of Sifnos and a large number of believers, Sifnos and vacationers, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Syros, Mr. Dorotheos II, with the participation of the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Vryssus, Archim. Ioannikiou Lambrinou and Episcopalians of the island, he performed the Mass of the M. Prayer Canon to the Most Holy Theotokos in the Monastery Metochio of Panagia Chrysopigi, where the homonymous holy Icon of the Patroness of Sifnos is kept.

In his speech, His Holiness Mr. Dorotheos II spoke about the uncreated light of the Transfiguration and about the created and uncreated nature, in the middle of which projects the sept face of Theotokos.

He thanked the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Vrisso, Archim. Ioannikios, for his concern for the holy Metochios of Chrysopigi, as well as the faithful, who continuously come and watch the Prayer Masses held there with enthusiasm, and he wished everyone for the Fifteenth of August.
