On August 9, the 10th Sunday after Pentecost and the day of remembrance of the great martyr and healer Panteleimon, Metropolitan Nikon of Astrakhan and Kamyzyak and Bishop Matthew of Enotaevsky and Akhtubinsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the St. Nicholas-Shartom Monastery.
Concelebrating with the archpastors were: the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Philip (Ponomarchuk) and his brethren in holy orders.
The liturgical chants were performed by the monastery's fraternal choir.
The brethren of the monastery, parishioners and numerous pilgrims prayed during the service. At the end of the Liturgy, glorification was performed to the holy great martyr and healer Panteleimon. Addressing those gathered, Metropolitan Nikon congratulated Archimandrite Philip and his brethren and parishioners on the holiday, calling on everyone to strengthen their faith and not cling to anything earthly.
