I.N. Prophet Ilios Pylaia completes 100 years of life – Vigil and the rare Procession of the Spreading of the Holy Tabletranslated

In 2026, the Holy Church of the Prophet Ilios of Pylaia (1926–2026) completes one hundred years since its foundation, marking a century of uninterrupted liturgical, pastoral and social presence in the local Church and society of Pylaia. On the occasion of the beginning of the anniversary events for the completion of the centenary of the Holy Church, on Monday July 27, 2026 at 8:30 p.m., a Holy Vigil will be held, presided over by His Holiness Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Mr. Philotheus.

During the Holy Vigil, the rare Service of the Spreading of the Holy Table will be performed, which precedes the work of restoration and renovation of the Holy Step and the Holy Table, according to church order and tradition.

This particular sacred sequence is held rarely and lends special spiritual and historical weight to this year's celebration, as it is connected to the beginning of a new period in the history of the Holy Temple, which enters the second century of its life and ministry.
