The Divine Liturgy of Agios Iakovos the Brother of Aegina in Aeginatranslated

With the blessing of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Hydra, Mr. Ephraim, on Friday, October 23, 2026, the Ancient Divine Liturgy of Agios Iakovos the Adelfotheos was held in the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos in the city of Aegina with the participation of the Fathers of the Island. The General High Priestly Overseer Aeginis Panos spoke. Chief Fr Amfilochios Geladakis emphasizing among others, "our Holy Church, at the beginning of the new ecclesiastical season, calls us to cultivate more deeply the consciousness of active participation in Divine Worship".

He emphasized that the Divine Liturgy is not a spectacle to watch, but a joint work of the entire church body.

Clergy and lay people are called to go beyond the attitude of passive spectators and to participate consciously, prayerfully and effectively in the events, experiencing the Holy Eucharist as a living expression of our unity in Christ.

Finally, he announced the start of the Bible study circles in the parishes of Nisos, followed by a treat in the main hall of the Church.
