September 3, 2026 · 1 min read

The relics of Saint Elizabeth from Pasărea will be brought to Bucovina for the first time on Sunday to the "Holy Fathers Joachim and Ana" Parish in Suceava.

The reliquary with the holy relics will be greeted at 19:00 by a council of priests and deacons, together with nuns from the monasteries in the native county of Saint Elisabeta.

The holy relics will be welcomed at the entrance to Aleea Dumbrăvii and will be carried in procession to the "Saint Mina" Chapel of the "Holy Fathers Joachim and Ana" Parish in Suceava. From 20:00 the service of the Akathist will be celebrated. The coffin will remain in the "Saint Mina" Chapel of the parish until Wednesday, September 9.

The casket in which the relics of Saint Elizabeth from Pasărea were placed was offered by Metropolitan Laurentiu of Transylvania.

The embroidered covering was given by Stavrofora Maria Magdalena Vrânceanu, the abbess of the Copou Monastery in Iasi, together with the community, and the cloth garments were offered by the Nun Loida Iovanesc, the abbess of the Sita Buzăului Monastery.

Είναι ωραίο που φέρνουν για πρώτη φορά τα λείψανα στην Bucovina. Θα ήθελα να δω την πομπή από την Aleea Dumbrăvii μέχρι τον Άγιο Μηνά. Ποιος θα είναι ο πρώτος ιερέας που θα κρατήσει τη λάρνακα;

It's nice that they are bringing them to Bucovina for the first time. That brocade blanket from Mother Magdalena of Copou looks very nice in the photos, I would like to see how they will carry it all in the procession from Aleea Dumbrăvii. I wonder if the sisters from Pasărei will come too.

I agree, that brocade blanket from Mother Magdalena looks really beautiful. The procession from Aleea Dumbrăvii will certainly be nice, especially when the t-shirts from the surrounding monasteries also come. I was wondering if you were going to go there in person on Sunday night.

Yes, that brocade blanket from Mother Magdalena is really nice, I saw it in the photos from last year. The procession from Alee Dumbráva will certainly be dignified, especially with those little girls from the neighborhood. I probably won't get there on Sunday evening because of the night shift at the hospital, but maybe tomorrow afternoon. are you going
