But what about the voice of millions of believers who do not recognize the OCU and consider it a schism? It is strange that only one side is chosen for the “voice of Ukraine”.

I agree with you, Vasily. Millions in our Church and in the UOC do not recognize the OCU precisely as a schism, and their voice is also important. Why then does the WCC want to hear only one side, and not everyone?

Sophia, I completely agree. If the WCC really wants the “voice of Ukraine,” then why do they ignore millions of UOC believers who do not consider the OCU to be the Church? This is not one vote, but half the country, in fact. What do you think, are they doing this on purpose or are they simply not aware of the real picture?

Timofey, you are right, they are generally silent about the UOC, as if it doesn’t exist. But there are also millions of people there who believe differently and do not recognize the OCU. Do you think that the WCC simply doesn’t know or is it really choosing whose “voice of Ukraine” it is more convenient for them to hear?

Yes, Lyudmila, they really seem to have forgotten about the UOC, although there are a lot of people there. In my next door, my grandmother still goes there and doesn’t want to hear about the OCU. I wonder if the WCC ever asked the opinion of ordinary parishioners, and not just the top?

Yes, Lyudmila, this is exactly what surprises - it’s as if they don’t remember about the UOC on purpose, although in our area half of the people we know go to services there. But it’s interesting, if the WCC really wanted the “voice of Ukraine,” why not listen to those who have remained in the canonical Church for decades?
