Abuse leading to addiction; dependence that deprives one of inner freedom; captivity, lack of freedom, affecting creativity, creation, the ability to create a personal masterpiece - these and other aspects of addictions were proposed for discussion by seventh-graders of a local school by the rector of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Chist, Molodechno district, Archpriest Alexander Ivanov, at the thematic lesson “Free choice of useful things.”

The lesson took place on September 8, 2026.

Particular attention was paid to the manifestations of pathological dependence on social networks. An obsession with TikTok and the “leash” of Instagram are signs of lost freedom, loss of creative potential, the clergyman noted.
