July 9, 2026 · 1 min read

In the parish of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the city of Buda-Koshelevo, a family holiday “Keeping Love” was held, timed to coincide with the day of remembrance of the holy faithful Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom.

The organizers of the event were the parish of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the regional organization of the ROO "Patriots of Belarus", the Uvarovichi City House of Culture and volunteers. Residents of the city and surrounding villages took part in the celebration.

The holiday began with a prayer service to the holy blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom. The service was performed by the dean of the Buda-Koshelevsky church district, Archpriest Sergius Peshko.

Addressing the participants, Archpriest Sergius Peshko noted that the memory of Saints Peter and Fevronia recalls the importance of family, fidelity and mutual support. “It is important that public associations, cultural institutions and families joined the holiday. Nice to see the Sunday school kids singing about family and home after the moleben. Fr. Sergiy’s point about everyone pitching in together makes sense — church, patriots’ group, the culture house and volunteers all helping the same cause. Our parish choir could learn something from that kind of teamwork.

Our Sunday school kids would love singing those same songs about home and family. Fr. Sergiy is right that it takes the church, the patriots’ group, the culture house and volunteers all working together. Sounds like a solid afternoon in Buda-Koshelevo.

It is good that after the prayer, the children from the Sunday school sang about their native home and family. Father Serhiy correctly said that when the church, "Patriots of Belarus", the cultural center and volunteers are together, it is easier to support the family. We in Odessa should also arrange such a thing.

Thanks for this story. It's good that after the prayer, the children sang songs about home and family, and father Sergi rightly says that the church, patriots, the House of Culture and volunteers do more together. Such an evening would be very suitable in our Kutaisi.
