The priest performed a prayer service at the fire station of Sosnovoborsktranslated

On the day of the celebration of the icon of the Mother of God “Burning Bush”, revered by believers as a protector from fire and natural disasters, the full-time priest of the parish of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Church of the city of Sosnovoborsk, Priest Sergius Gridin, performed a prayer service in the fire department of the city at the request of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Father Sergius addressed those gathered with a pastoral word, noting that the work of a firefighter is an example of sacrificial love for people, and prayer in front of a revered image strengthens the spirit and helps in the difficult task of fighting the elements.

At the end of the prayer service, the priest sprinkled everyone present with holy water and gave a blessing, wishing the firefighters good health, strength and the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in their dangerous service.

Thank you for writing. It’s good that Father Sergius responded to the firefighters’ request. Their work is really hard, they take risks every day, and prayer in front of the “Burning Bush” on such a day is just that.

Thank you for writing about this. It’s good that Father Sergius served a prayer service right in the unit and sprinkled water on everyone. Here in Tula, too, sometimes firefighters ask, their work is hard, every trip is like going to war.
