Archbishop Irina of Alba Iulia served on Sunday at the consecration of the "Saint Hierarch Nicolae" Monastery in Lăpușna, Mureș county. "The Holy Martyrs of Brâncove, uniting with Christ through their martyrdom, acquired immortal and victorious life," the hierarch emphasized.

His Eminence explained that confessing the faith involves placing the will of man in agreement with the will of God and, in this sense, he quoted Saint Cyprian of Carthage: "He who wants to remain forever must do the will of God, who is eternal."

Archbishop Irineu emphasized that the example of the Holy Martyrs Brâncoveni remains relevant for believers who are going through difficulties.

"To obey God, you must be strong in faith, this being an existential decision of the Christian, for Christ and His Church, in this world where everything is subject to becoming and death."

"Faith gives us guidance on the road of earthly existence and gives us strength in the face of difficulties, and at the end it gives us eternal life," said the hierarch.

Yes, that quote from Saint Cyprian gave me pause - "He who wants to remain forever must do the will of God". It's simple and clear, as Archbishop Irineu says. In our parish, we talked about this very thing last week, when one of the boys was going through a problem at work. Thanks for the article.

Yes, Saint Cyprian's quote gave me pause as well. In the church choir, we talked last month exactly about how you choose God's will when a serious illness or a decision at work comes. The example of the Brâncovens is good to remember when you have a bad day at the hospital.
