With due splendor and religious fervour, on the evening of August 14, the Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers was celebrated on the supreme feast of the Theotokos cycle, the Dormition and the Ascension of the Most Holy Theotokos, at the Solemn Pilgrimage of the Virgin in N. Philadelphia n. Thessaloniki of the Holy Diocese of Polyani & Kilkisiou.

The Solemn High Priestly Vespers was officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Polyani and Kilkisi, Mr. Bartholomeos, flanked by Priests and Deacons of the Metropolis, among them the good Vicar of the Parish and Pilgrimage, Father Kyriakos Fotiadis, while among the many faithful and pilgrims who gathered again this year for to light a candle for the grace of Our Lady and to pick up the Icon of Our Lady of Philadelphia bowing with faith, reverence and respect to Her holy person, the Mayor of Oriokastro Mr. Pantelis Tsakiris and representatives of the local authorities attended.

Blessed is Bishop Bartholomew for serving. It's nice that Father Kyriakos was there too, I've known him since before. I too wish I could have lit a candle in Philly this year, but we couldn't make it because of work.
