That's great news for the kids. My cousin's son goes to a lyceum in St. Petersburg and he already complains that everything feels too rushed and impersonal — having a proper Orthodox class might give them some breathing room and real values. Hope the teacher they picked is someone patient and down-to-earth.

Bine că au deschis clasa asta ortodoxă. Copiii au nevoie de un loc unde să nu alerge tot timpul după note și materii. Sper ca profesorul să fie unul calm, nu genul care ține predici lungi, ci să le arate pur și simplu cum să trăiască frumos zi de zi.

To je dobře, že to otevřeli. Děti dnes běhají z hodiny na hodinu a pořád jen známky, aspoň tam budou mít chvíli na to, co je opravdu důležité. Doufám, že učitel bude spíš takový ten tichý, co ukáže příkladem, jako píše Maria.

That's a good point about the rushed feeling in those schools. My older boy had a similar complaint last year before we switched him to a smaller parish program, and the calmer Orthodox lessons really helped him settle. What grade is your cousin's son in?
