Florinis Irenaios at the 24th Panhellenic Torch Run of Volunteer Blood Donorstranslated

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Florina, Prespa and Eordaia, Mr. Irenaios, participated in the opening of the 24th Panhellenic Volunteer Blood Donor Torch Run, which took place in Florina, conveying the message of voluntary blood donation, donation and solidarity with fellow human beings. The start of the action took place at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Panteleimonos of Florina, where the "Flame of Love" was lit. The Metropolitan was close to the organizers, the volunteer blood donors and the participants, supporting with his presence the initiative and the message of practical giving to people.

Afterwards, young and old followed the torchlight route through the main streets of the city, ending at the New Park where events dedicated to voluntary blood donation took place.

The action was organized by the Municipality of Florina, in collaboration with the Panhellenic Federation of Voluntary Blood Donor Associations and the General Hospital of Florina "Eleni Th. Dimitriou".

Schön zu sehen, dass Metropolit Irenaios die Flamme der Liebe im Heiligen Pantaleimon-Kirche angezündet hat. Solche Veranstaltungen erinnern uns, dass Blutspenden ganz praktisch helfen kann, besonders im Krankenhaus in Florina. Hoffentlich waren viele junge Leute dabei.

Добре, що владика Іриней запалив «Полум’я Любові» саме в храмі святого Пантелеймона. Це правильно, що почали з молитви, а потім уже йшли вулицями. У нашому Львові теж часто просять крові для хворих, тому така справа завжди потрібна.

Bine că au început de la biserica Sfântul Pantelimon, aprinzând „Flacăra Iubirii” acolo. La noi în spital vedem zilnic cât de mult contează sângele donat, mai ales pentru operații și urgențe. Sper că au venit mulți tineri din Florina, că ei sunt cei care pot continua treaba asta.

Хорошо, что начали именно в храме святого Пантелеимона и зажгли «Флогу тис Агапис». Дело нужное, кровь всегда требуется, особенно в больнице. У нас в воскресной школе тоже говорили с ребятами, что помогать ближнему можно и так, не только молитвой.
