Memorial for the blessed Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Anthimos in Chiostranslated

With particular splendor, but also the solemnity imposed by the sanctified space of the Monastery, this year the holy memory of the Recollection of the Holy Relics of our Holy and God-bearing Father Anthimos the Elder, builder and founder of the Holy Parthenon of Panagia Boethias of Chios, was commemorated. On the main day of the feast, on the morning of Thursday, September 3, 2026, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chios, Psara and Oinoussa, Mr. Markos, with the participation of a large number of clergy from the Holy Metropolises of Limassol, Cyprus, Lagada and Chios, as well as a large number of believers.

The Divine Word was preached by the Reverend Pastor, who, referring to the holy life of Saint Anthimos, emphasized, among other things: "Saint Anthimos, a flower which bore fruit to the nuns, who as bees received pollen from its flower to prepare the honey of holiness".

Towards the end of the Eucharistic Synagogue, a Memorial Mass was held in memory of the blessed Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Anthimos from Alexandroupolis, whom the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chios described as "Native Akrita" of Evros and "the last Macedonian warrior".
