The President of the Student Council of the University of Thessaly Nikolaos Neamonitis was signed as Readertranslated

With particular emotion and in an overcast atmosphere, on Saturday August 8, 2026, in the Holy Church of Agios Emilianos Kallimasias of Chios, the ordination of Nikolaos Neamonitis to Reader, by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chios, Psara and Oinoussa Mr. Markos took place. The ordination took place on the feast day of Agios Emilianos, one of the biggest pilgrimages of Chios, in the presence of relatives, friends and hundreds of believers, in a particularly emotional atmosphere. The new Reader received the blessing of the Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Markou, now officially assuming the ministry of Reader in the Church.

After the ordination, Nikos Neamonitis said: "Today is a great blessing for me, but at the same time a great responsibility as the status of Reader is one of the first steps in church ministry and is connected to the reading of the Holy Texts and active participation in the worship life of the Church. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to our Most Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Mark for his honor, trust and blessing. Congratulations to Nikolai! It’s good that on such a big holiday, St. Emilian’s Day, so many people gathered. Reading in church is a responsible matter, let him do everything calmly and with soul.

Nice to see a university student council president take on the reader’s role like this. The fact it happened right on St. Emilianos’ feast day in Chios, with all those people there, makes it feel even more solid. May he read the texts clearly and steadily every time he’s called up.
