The Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki announces that, in view of the feast of the Universal Exaltation of the Holy Cross, next Friday, September 11, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., it will arrive at the Metropolitan Holy Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, in the Municipality of Pylaia - Hortiatis (area "Villa Ridge"), and will be placed to venerate the Holy Cara of our holy Father David in Euboea. According to the program that has already been announced, the holy services of Vespers, Holy Communion and Divine Liturgy will be held daily, during the days of the Pilgrimage, in the aforementioned Holy Church, while holy Prayers and Vigils will also be held.

In particular, it is pointed out that during the two days, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, the Inauguration of the Holy Church will take place, a unique event with high ecclesiastical and spiritual importance.

It is good that the relics of St. David will be brought precisely for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. I wonder if all the preparations for the consecration of the church will be completed in these two days. I will pray that many will be able to worship.

It's good that the relics of Saint David come precisely for the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. I once went to Euboea and saw his monastery, it is a simple and gracious place. I wonder if they will really finish the preparations for the consecration in just two days, but God is arranging it all.

It is good that the relics of St. David come precisely for the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. I was in Thessaloniki last year and I know that little chapel in "Vila Ridge" – modest but beautiful. I hope they will be able to complete the preparations for the consecration in two days, although things are often delayed. I will try to go to at least one evening.

It’s good that the relics of St. David will be brought just in time for the Exaltation of the Cross, right in this modest paraklis in Villa Ridge. I was in a similar small church on Mount Athos, everything is also simple there, but after the service my soul is calm. I wonder how they will manage to make preparations in two days, but, apparently, everything is according to providence.

It is good that the relics of St. David will be brought precisely to the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, to that small chapel in "Villa Ridge". I heard that he is modest, but after vespers it is always quiet and peaceful there. I wonder if they will have time to prepare for the consecration in two days, because in our parish, even for a simple memorial service, we plan everything for weeks.

Yes, I too went to the monastery of Saint David in Euboea two years ago, after a football match in Athens. The place is really simple, but the silence there grabs you. Do you think they will be able to prepare everything for the consecration in two days or will they still work at night?
