The Holy Monastery of Agia Zoni of Samos celebrated brilliantlytranslated

With due splendor and splendor, and with the participation of the Holy Clergy, the political and military Authorities of the Island and a multitude of pious pilgrims, the Holy Monastery of Agia Zoni of Samos (1695) celebrated the feast of the Deposition of the Holy Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On the evening of Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Great Solemn Vespers was held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Samos Mr. Eusevios, who preached the Divine Word.

On the main day, Monday 31 August, the Solemn Orthros was celebrated and then the Divine Liturgy, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Nigeria Mr. Nicodemus and concelebrated by the Most Reverend Pastor Mr. Eusebius.

The Divine Word was preached by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Nigeria, Mr. Nikodimos, who referred to the motherly person of the Lady Theotokos, as well as the honor of the holy Relics and the holy garments of the Saints in the life of the Church. At the same time, he warmly thanked our Reverend Pastor for his love and hospitality.

Дякую за новину. Добре, що митрополит Нігерії Нікодим приїхав і так гарно говорив про шанування святих мощів та одежі. Цікаво, чи встиг він побачити саму Зону, бо в нашій церкві теж є маленька частинка, люди завжди з пошаною підходять.

Thanks for sharing the news. It was good to read that Metropolitan Nikodimos spoke about the honor given to holy relics and garments – our own parish has a small piece of the Zone too, and the quiet respect when people approach it always strikes me. I hope he got to venerate the actual Zoni while he was on Samos.

Our parish in Manchester keeps a little relic of the Zone as well, and you're right, the silence that falls when someone comes up to it is always moving. I didn't realise Metropolitan Nikodimos had visited Samos before – did he mention how long they've known each other? Nice to hear he got to venerate the Zoni itself.
