Nikolaos Vassiliadis (1927-2016): A contemporary authentic theological presencetranslated

Nicolaidis, Emeritus Professor of EKPA, President of the Institute "Saint Maximus the Greek" These days are ten years since the graduation of blessed Nikolaos Vassiliadis, admirable researcher, excellent theologian, noble man, with all the characteristics of a consistent follower of the God-man Christ, a conscious and all-living member of the ecclesiastical body, a humble but dynamic deacon of Theology and an indefatigable selfless servant of people, especially the young, among them and me.

Unfortunately, I never realized until now the need to highlight all of the above and express my deep gratitude for the great honor that he has bestowed upon me to consider and treat me as a dear friend from my student days to the end of his earthly life. I'm glad I can do it even now.

As usually happens, the first painful difficulties of life become the occasion and starting point for a remarkable advancement and successful God-given career. They are the ones that forced him to leave his Cypriot homeland, to fulfill his childhood desire, the theological studies in a safe and fertile for his time...

I remember that Mr. Vassiliadis helped the young students a lot, as the article says. It is beautiful to see that a Cypriot who had to leave his country ended up becoming a true, discreet servant of the Church. Thank you for this reminder, it makes me think of my own son who studied theology far from Toulouse.
