Прав е владиката. Когато виждаш как някой в храма се държи едно, а после на улицата или в работата – съвсем друго, на младите им писва. И аз съм го виждала в болницата – сестри, които пеят в хора, а после клюкарят без милост. Трябва да започнем от себе си, иначе само ще говорим.

Прав си, Богдана, точно това виждам и аз. Като шофьор всеки ден се сблъсквам с хора, които в неделя са в храма, а в понеделник те режат на пътя без да мигнат. Започваме от себе си, да, но ми е интересно – ти как мислиш, какво помага най-много на младите да не се откажат съвсем?

I saw the same thing last year when a couple of the college kids from our parish stopped coming after they overheard some of the older ladies tearing into the new priest’s wife in the parking lot. It really does start with us. Stefan, for me what helped keep a few of them around was just inviting them to bake prosforo with me on Saturday mornings—no lectures, just flour, yeast, and talking about whatever.

Máte pravdu, všetko sa začína od nás. Videla som to aj u nás v parochii, keď jedna babka po liturgii kritizovala susedku za plot a mladí to počuli. Stefan, mne sa zdá, že najviac pomáha, keď mladí vidia aspoň pár ľudí, ktorí sa snažia žiť to, čo hovoria – aj keď nie dokonale.
