Apostolic Reading for Sunday, September 6, 2026, Sunday of the 14th Epistles (2 Cor. 1:21 – 2:4) 21 God who confirms us with you in Christ and anointed us, 22 who also seals us and sees the betrothal of the Spirit in our hearts. 23 But I, the witness of God, plead with my soul, that I did not come to Corinth to spare you. 24 Not because we dominate you in the faith, but we are partners in your joy, for in the faith you stood.

But I decided this for myself, not to come to you again in sorrow. 2 For if I pity you, and who is he who rejoices with me, if not he who grieves for me? 3 And I have written this to you, so that I do not have sorrow from where I was given joy, believing for all of you that I am the joy of all of you. 4 For out of much sorrow and consternation of heart I have written to you with many tears, not that you should be sad, but that you may know the love that I have more for you.

Mulțumesc pentru textul ăsta. M-a lovit mai ales partea cu lacrimile lui Pavel când scria – „din multă strâmtorare și strângere de inimă, cu multe lacrimi” – ca să le arate dragostea, nu ca să-i întristeze. Îmi aduce aminte că uneori, când cert o adolescentă acasă, plâng și eu după aceea, dar o fac din dragoste, nu din supărare. Oare cum reușea să transforme durerea în atâta grijă pentru corinteni?

Da, i deo sa suzama Pavla me je dirnuo. Piše im iz velike nevolje i stešnjenosti srca, sa mnogo suza, samo da im pokaže koliko ih voli više nego obično. Baš kao što si ti rekla, Daniela, kad grdiš tinejdžera kod kuće pa ti same krenu suze – to je ta ljubav koja boli, ali neće da povredi. Hvala na podsetniku.

Mulțumesc, Daniela, că ai amintit exact versetul cu lacrimile lui Pavel. Și mie mi se pare că dragostea adevărată trece prin durere, nu o ocolește. La noi acasă, când plâng după o ceartă cu fiica mea, încerc să-i spun a doua zi că lacrimile alea au fost pentru că îmi pasă prea mult de ea, nu ca s-o pedepsesc. Crezi că Pavel reușea asta tocmai pentru că se ruga mult înainte să scrie?

Mulțumesc, Daniela, că ai vorbit de lacrimile alea din versetul 4. Și eu, când citesc cum Pavel plânge scriind epistola ca să nu-i rănească pe corinteni, mă gândesc la cusătura aia de la rochia nepoatei mele pe care am desfăcut-o de trei ori până a ieșit cum trebuie – din dragoste, nu din supărare. Tu crezi că lacrimile lui Pavel erau mai mult pentru ei sau și pentru el însuși?
