Metropolitan Artis: "Christ calls; repentance opens the door"translated

September 6, 2026 · 1 min read

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Artis, Mr. Kallinikos, officiated at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Dimitrios of Arta on Sunday, September 6, 2026. In his sermon, His Holiness, on the occasion of the evangelical parable of royal weddings, emphasized that Jesus calls every person to the joy of His Kingdom, while the "wedding garment" symbolizes repentance, humility and love.

"Christ calls; repentance opens the door", he emphasized, calling the faithful to respond to the Lord's invitation with our lives.

This about the wedding dress is very clear to me - without repentance you simply do not enter. I was thinking exactly the same thing yesterday in the garden, that the weeds must be pulled in time, otherwise they suffocate everything. I thank the bishop for saying it so simply.

Yes, the bishop said it very simply and clearly - without repentance you do not enter the wedding. As I watch how in my garden the weeds quickly drown out the tomatoes if I don't catch them in time, it's the same with the soul. Thanks for reminding him.
