Metheortos High Priestly Vespers and procession of the Holy Icon of the Virgin Mary in Kastoriatranslated

In the solemn atmosphere of the great Theotokos feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on the afternoon of Saturday August 15, 2026, the celebrated High Priestly Vespers was celebrated in the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Kastoria. Priests of the Holy Metropolis participated in the service, while a large number of believers came to the Metropolitan Church, in order to participate in the solemn service and honor the pansept face of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Immediately after the end of Vespers, the procession of the Holy Icon of the Virgin Mary from the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos to the point of the Cross in Kastoria took place. Clergy and people reverently accompanied the Holy Icon through the streets of the city, singing hymns in honor of the Virgin Mary.

The procession of the Holy Icon was accompanied by the Philharmonic Band of the Army, as well as a military salute, giving special splendor to the solemn procession. At the same time, the Holy Icon was accompanied by children from the "Armonia" Association, dressed in traditional Kastorian costumes
