July 19, 2026 · 1 min read

With ecclesiastical splendor and the massive participation of the faithful, the Memorial of the Holy Great Martyr Marina was celebrated in our Holy Metropolis. On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the eve of the feast, our Most Reverend Metropolitan presided over the solemn Vespers at the eponymous Holy Church of the town of Paradise. During Vespers and after the blessing of Artoklasia, Mr. Antonio Kostakis and Mr. Angelos Antonopoulos, ministering in the Parish Rectory, ordained Readers. On the feast day of the memory of the Saint, he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the celebrating parish church of the Community of Apolakkia.

The Most Reverend Bishop of Olympus Mr. Kyrillos presided over the solemn Vespers at the Holy Church of Agia in Apollakia, he presided over Orthros and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in that of Paradise.

The Holy Protosygellos Father Theonas Kamperis presided over the Holy Church of Vespers inside the Medieval City of Rhodes.

James AdamsNice to see both Antonios Kostakis and Angelos Antonopoulos made Reader. The services in Paradisi and Apolakkia sound proper and well attended. St Marina's day always draws a good crowd down there.

Xenia WilsonNice to see those two lads step up as Readers — Antonios has been helping at the analogion for years now. The services in Paradisi and Apolakkia do draw a proper crowd every year for St Marina. Did you make it down for any of them this time?
