Four-day memorial service for Father Paraskeva Papadakis at Agios Dimitrios in Monemvasiatranslated

On the morning of Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Agios Dimitrios of Monemvasia, the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy of the preeminent of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Sparta, Mr. Efstathios, were held. Afterwards, the four-day memorial service of the late priest Fr. Paraskevas Papadakis was held. In his speech, the revered Pastor first referred to the honored Prophet Zacharias, father of John the Forerunner. He then spoke about the venerable Father Paraskeias, who throughout his priestly life had as his supports deep faith in God, spirituality, humility and hard work.

Afterwards, the former President of the Community of Agios Dimitrios, Mr. Dimitrios Lebesis, also spoke about the late priest.

Reverend Father Paraskevas Papadakis, son of Michael and Panagiota, was born on March 5, 1951 in Agios Dimitrios, Monemvasia. He got married in 1976 in Sykea to the late Panagiota Papadakis, with whom they had a daughter, Maria. He was a graduate of the Higher Ecclesiastical School of Athens. He was ordained a Deacon on September 24, 1976 in I.N. Panagia Myrtidiotissa Daimonia and Elder on December 6, 1976 in I.N. Agios Nikolaos Sparta, by...

Father Paraskevas was one of those people who didn't talk much but worked all the time. I remember him driving his old Fiat to the villages to get it working, even in the cold. The Metropolitan's speech about his humility and hard work was very correct. His memory is eternal.

Yes, I too remember that old Fiat of Father Paraskeva. You saw the man leave early in the morning with the snow and return late at night, without saying a word. The Metropolis spoke well of his hard work and humility, it fits perfectly. His memory is eternal.

I, too, remember that old Fiat that made runs in the cold. Father Paraskevas had raised his daughter Maria alone after the loss of Panagiota, and despite this he did not stop going to the villages. The Metropolitan's speech about his humility was perfectly fitting. Forever his memory.
