Procession of the holy icon of the Martyrs Photios and Anikitos in Heptagoniatranslated

August 13, 2026 · 1 min read

On August 12, our Holy Church celebrated the memory of the holy glorious Martyrs Photios and Anikitos. In the chapel that bears their name, in Heptagonia, a solemn Vespers service was held by the Theophilist Bishop Amathoustos Mr. Nikolaos and then a litany of the holy icon of the holy Martyrs around the chapel.

The litany around the chapel must have looked lovely in the evening light. I didn’t know Bishop Nikolaos was there; it’s good he could preside. We could do with a few more such quiet neighbourhood feasts here in Sydney.
