Veroia Panteleimon: Let us joyfully celebrate the Dormition of the Virgin not only secularly but also spirituallytranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Veria Naoussis and Campania, Mr. Panteleimon, in the pastoral encyclical for the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin, explains, among other things, "why do we celebrate a fundamentally sad event, such as death, more than a joyful one, such as the birth or the Annunciation of the Virgin? Why do we consider the Assumption of Our Lady such a great feast that it has been established in the consciousness of the faithful people as "the Easter of summer"? His Eminence states that her Ascension becomes the beginning of her glory, a glory which is marked by the presence in Gethsemane of the holy Apostles, to accompany her to her last residence and receive her blessing, but also the absence of her body from her tomb a few days after her Ascension, as it was not possible for the Mother of Life to be kept under death.
The Encyclical of the Metropolitan of Veroia Naoussis and Campania

In the liturgical cycle of our Holy Church there are many holidays in honor of the Most Holy Theotokos. And it is natural, as the Virgin Mary owns us...
