Xanthi Panteleimon: The return of the relics should be the start of talks and negotiations for ustranslated

The return of the 48 ecclesiastical relics to Greece from Bulgaria opens, at the same time, a separate issue for Xanthi. The Metropolitan of Xanthi and Peritherio, Mr. Panteleimon, referring to the issue, underlines that the recent agreement between Greece and Bulgaria can be the starting point for opening the discussion about the relics of Xanthi. As he characteristically mentioned in a statement after the completion of the parade for the city's Freedoms on Sunday, October 4, the Diocese has correspondence on the matter since 1996, while an effort has been made to communicate with the church leadership of Bulgaria at the time.
His Eminence is already in Athens as part of the Regular Convocation of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy, while as already announced a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, has been scheduled.
"This move for us should be the beginning of talks and negotiations on return, not the beginning and the end," he said.
