False Dmitris: The Epoch of Pretenders 1604-1612translated

The project "Minute History. A Thousand Years of Statehood" is carried out by the journal "Foma" together with the interregional organization of large families "Big Family".

In 60 videos, each one minute long, we tell about the most important people, events and cultural phenomena of a thousand years of Russian history. The topics cover the time from the first settlements and unions of Eastern Slavs to the end of the 19th century when the Crimean and Russo-Turkish Wars were ongoing and Central Asia was being explored.

The content of the videos corresponds with paragraphs of school textbooks for grades 6-9: the chronology is preserved, and the program is taken into account.

The project is implemented with funds from the President's Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

It is interesting that they chose precisely this period — 1604-1612. In our school, we always quickly covered the False Dmitris, but there was so much mixed up then. I will take a look and maybe finally figure out who is who.

A lot of False Dmitrievites passed by our school for a minute or two, as if they were one person. Interesting that they took exactly 1604-1612, it really confuses a person who is who. I will play the first video tonight after the shift in the store, I hope it becomes clearer.
