Bell Tolling on the Day of the Citytranslated

On the occasion of celebrating the Day of the City, a wave of bell tolling will resonate in the churches of Kirov on Saturday, September 26, 2026. With the blessing of Metropolitan Vyatka and Slavgorod Mark, at 12:00 noon, the bells will ring in the city's central churches to celebrate the Day of the City. Throughout the city of Kirov, the festive peals of the city's church bells will announce the greatness of our city, its ancient history, Orthodox traditions, and unique culture: Joyful tolling for the day of the city will spread through the streets, parks, and along the river, filling the Vjatka with a pure and divine sound, so that the golden autumn sun sparkles on the Vjatka and brings peace and joy to all. The festive peals dedicated to the Day of Kirov will take place within the framework of the cultural-educational project "Resounding City," a winner of the 2026 grant competition "Pravoslavnaia Initsiativa" by the charitable foundation supporting humanitarian and enlightening initiatives "Sorotchnost'.

Good to see the bells ringing across town at noon on the 26th. Our choir usually practices around that time, so maybe we'll step outside and listen when they start from the cathedral. The "Zvenyashchy Gorod" project sounds like a solid idea—hope they get more folks out to the river to hear it carry along the water.
