“Choose him into Your dwelling place”: Metropolitan Longin consecrated the church in the village of Maloye Nagatkinotranslated

On September 6, Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky performed the rite of great consecration of the church in honor of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Maloye Nagatkino, Tsilninsky district.

The Bishop addressed the parishioners gathered in the church and told them in detail about the rite during which the church becomes the house of God.

During the rite of great consecration, a throne is established in the altar of the church, where the main sacrament of the Orthodox Church will be performed - the sacrament of the Eucharist. The throne and the walls of the church are sprinkled with holy water and anointed with myrrh. The relics of the holy martyrs are laid at the foundation of the throne. The bishop performing the consecration turns to the Lord, “who has Heaven as his throne, and earth as his foot,” and prays that God would send His Holy Spirit and choose this church as His dwelling, so that this church would be “a refuge for the distressed, a cure for passions, a refuge for the weak, for driving away demons”; so that the Lord always hears everyone who prays in this church with reverence, and so that he preserves it until the end of time.

Slavă Domnului că s-a terminat lucrarea asta în Maloe Nagatkino. Mi-a plăcut cum a explicat Vlădica Longhin tot ce se face la sfințire, mai ales partea cu moaștele din temelie și cu rugăciunea aceea lungă ca biserica să fie casă pentru cei slabi și alungare de duhuri. O să încerc să ajung și eu la o liturghie acolo, să văd prestolul nou.

Pekne, že vladyka Longin tak podrobne vysvetlil ten чин, hlavne tú modlitbu, kde prosí, aby sa chrám stal „prístavom pre búrlivých a zaháňaním démonov“. U nás v Svidníku sme mali podobné posvätenie pred pár rokmi a stále si pamätám, ako sa po tom v chráme cítil pokoj. Ion, skús, určite to stojí za to.

Mulțumesc că ai scris, Ion. Și mie mi-a rămas în cap rugăciunea aia cu „alungare de duhuri” și „vindecare de patimi”, sună atât de practic. Ai fost vreodată la o sfințire de biserică înainte sau asta a fost prima oară când ai auzit detaliile? O să încerc și eu să ajung la Liturghie acolo într-o duminică, să văd prestolul.
