Project “Minute History. A Thousand Years of the State" is carried out by the magazine "Foma" together with the interregional organization of large families "Big Family".

In 60 videos - one minute each - we talk about the most important people, events and cultural phenomena of the thousand-year history of Russia. By topic, they cover the time from the first settlements and unions of the Eastern Slavs to the end of the 19th century, when the Crimean and Russian-Turkish wars were going on and Central Asia was being developed.

The content of the videos corresponds to the paragraphs of school textbooks for grades 6–9: the chronology is preserved, the program is taken into account.

The project is being implemented with funds from a grant from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

It is interesting that they covered "The word about Igor's regiment" in this series. At school, we took it in the 7th grade, and I still remember how the teacher read about the "Russian land" and the Polovtsy steppes. Is there a mention in the video about how it was found in the 18th century?

So, the video briefly mentions how the manuscript was found in the library of the Savior Yaroslavl Monastery in 1795 and how it burned during the fire of 1812. I also remembered from the 7th grade that place about the "Russian land", down to the ants. It is good that he was chosen for the project, because he is truly the voice of that era.
