I rarely see a bishop from Siberia serving in Pskov. I wonder why Archbishop Ionathan came. And he worshiped the relics of Vsevolod-Gavriil and Dovmont-Timofey first, that's right.

Yes, it's unusual to see a Siberian bishop serving in Pskov. He did make it to St. Nicholas the Fool as well – I was there that morning and the line moved quickly for once. The way he bowed to the princes' relics first really set the tone for the whole Liturgy.

Yes, it is interesting that it was Bishop Ionafan who came from Khakassia. I heard that he has long been familiar with the Pskov clergy since the time he served in Moscow. And the relics of Vsevolod-Gavriil and Dovmont are indeed always the first to bow, this is a tradition in our cathedral.

It’s true, starting with the princes’ relics really does feel like the right order for Pskov. I was glad to see he also venerated St. Nicholas the Fool-for-Christ that morning; the crowd around those relics can be thick, but it thinned out nicely after the Gospel.
