I.V. Kireevsky: an essay on life and religious and philosophical worldview

This essay is by no means intended to provide a detailed and complete study of Kireyevsky’s personality and worldview; his task is much narrower and consists in outlining the most basic aspects of Kireyevsky’s personality, reflected in his worldview, to present the content of this worldview and its historical genesis. As a result of this task, the essay almost does not touch on some undoubtedly interesting aspects of Kireyevsky’s literary activity (for example, his critical views), and also does not touch on some of Kireyevsky’s private thoughts, the interest of which increases especially in the light of the ideas of modern times (such, for example, is Kireyevsky’s thought about the need for a classical element in education, etc.). The most interesting aspects of Kireevsky’s ideological makeup, as well as his literary views, will be the subject of special articles in addition to this essay.
