Первое Послание к Коринфянам св. Апостола Павла

1) Paul, called an Apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the will of God, and Sosthenes brother, 2) the church of God, which is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place, with them and with us. 3) Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4) I thank my God for you always, in the grace of God given to you in Christ Jesus, 5) because in him you have been enriched in everything, in all speech and all knowledge. 6) How the testimony of Christ is established in you, - 7) so that none of you is deprived of any grace, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8) who will establish you, even to the end, blameless on the day of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9) God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 10) I beseech you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all say the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you, but that you be perfect in one feeling and in one judgment.
11) For from [the household] of Chloe it became known to me about you, my brothers, that there are disputes among you. 12) I say this, for each of you says: “I am Pavlov”; “I’m Apollosov”; “I’m Kifin”; “I am Christ’s.” 13) [Is] Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Pavlovo? 14) I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15) let no one say that you were baptized in my name. 16) I also baptized Stephen’s house; other than that, I don’t know if I baptized anyone else. 17) For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of speech; so that the cross of Christ will not be empty. 18) For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing; to those who are saved, that is, to us, is the power of God. 19) For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the prudence of the prudent” (Isa. 29:14). 20) “Where is the sage? Where is the scribe? Where is the questioner of this century? Has not God made the wisdom of this world foolish?” (Isa. 33:18). 21) For when the world through [its] wisdom did not know God in the wisdom of God, it pleased God through the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.
22) Because both the Jews demand signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom; 23) we preach Christ crucified, for the Jews this is a stumbling block, and for the pagans foolishness, 24) for those who are called themselves, Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God; 25) For what is foolish with God is wiser than men, and what is weak with God is stronger than men. 26) For consider your calling, brethren: for not many are wise according to the flesh, not many are strong, not many are noble; 27) But God has chosen the things that are foolish in the world, that he may confound the wise, and the things that are weak in the world, God has chosen, that he may confound the mighty; 28) God has chosen the base things of the world and the despised things, even the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are. 29) Let no flesh boast in His sight. 30) From Him you are also in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption; 31) so that [it may be] as it is written: “Whoever boasts, let him boast in the Lord” (Jer. 9:24).
1) And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come in exaltation of speech or wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of Christ. 2) For I decided that I should know nothing from you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3) And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in great trembling. 4) Both my word and my preaching are not in words persuasive to human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power, 5) so that your faith may not rest in human wisdom, but in the power of God. 6) We proclaim wisdom among the perfect, not the wisdom of this age and not of the rulers of this age, which are subject to contrition, 7) but we proclaim the wisdom of God in the mystery, which is hidden, which God predestined before the ages for our glory, 8) which none of the authorities of this age knew; for if they had known, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory. 9) But, as it is written: “The eye has not seen, the ear has not heard, and the heart of man has not entered into the things that God has prepared for those who love Him” (cf. Isa. 64:4, 17). 10) God revealed [this] to us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
11) For who among men knows what is in a man except the spirit of man which is in him? Likewise, no one knows what is in God except the Spirit of God. 12) We have not received the spirit of this world, but the Spirit from God, so that we may know what has been given to us from God, 13) which we proclaim not from human wisdom in learned words, but in the teaching of the Spirit, correlating spiritual with spiritual. 14) A natural man does not accept what is from the Spirit of God, for it is foolishness for him; and cannot understand, for [this] is tested spiritually. 15) The spiritual one judges everything, but he himself is not judged by anyone. 16) For who has known the sense of the Lord which taught him? We have the feeling of Christ.
1) And I could not speak to you, brethren, as to spiritual people, but as to carnal ones. Like babes in Christ, 2) I gave you milk to drink, and not food, for you could not [eat] yet, and even now you cannot, for you are still carnal. 3) After all, when there is envy and disagreement among you, are you not carnal, and are you not acting according to humanity? 4) For when one says: “I am Pavlov,” and the other: “I am Apollosov,” are you not human? So, what does Apollos represent? What about Pavel? 5) The servants of Him in whom you have believed, and each one as the Lord has given [him]. 6) I planted, Apollos watered, but God granted growth. 7) So, neither he who plants nor he who waters, but God who gives increase. 8) He who plants and he who waters are one. Everyone will receive their reward according to their work. 9) For we are God’s helpers, you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10) By the grace of God given to me, like a wise architect, I laid the foundation, and another builds on [it]. Let everyone see how he builds on [it]. 11) For no one can lay any other foundation than that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus.
12) If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13) everyone’s work will be revealed; for the day of the Lord will make it known, for it is revealed by fire, and the fire will test everyone’s work, what it is. 14) If anyone's work continues, which he built on top, he will receive a reward. 15) If someone’s business is burned, it will suffer damage; he himself will be saved, but as if from fire. 16) Do you not know that you are the church of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17) If anyone defiles the church of God, God will destroy him. For the church of God is holy, which you are. 18) Let no one deceive himself: if anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become a fool in order to become wise. 19) For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written: “I will catch the wise in their craftiness” (Job 5:13). 20) And again: “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vanity” (Ps. 93:11). 21) So let no one boast about men. 22) For all is yours, whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future - all are yours; 23) You are Christ’s, but Christ is God’s.
1) So let man consider us servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2) This is already required among stewards, so that everyone may be found faithful. 3) It means very little to me to be judged by you or the human day. But I don’t judge myself either. 4) For I do not know anything about myself, but this is not why I am justified; The Lord who judges me is the Lord. 5) Therefore, do not judge ahead of time until the Lord comes, who will illuminate what is hidden in darkness and reveal the counsels of hearts / heart intentions /, and then everyone will receive praise from God. 6) Now, brothers, I have modified this for myself and Apollos for your sake, so that you may learn from us not to be puffed up [with pride] for one against the other, [wisdom] beyond what is written. 7) For who distinguishes you? What do you have that you wouldn't get? If you have received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it? 8) You are already fed up, you are already rich, you reign without us. And oh, that you might reign, that you and I might reign!
9) For it seems to me that God has revealed us, the Apostles, as the last, as if destined for death, for we have become a disgrace [spectaculum] to the world, and to angels, and to men. 10) We are foolish for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; We are weak, but you are strong; you are noble, we are honorable. 11) Even to this hour we hunger and thirst, and we are naked, and we receive with the fist, and have no permanent shelter, 12) and we labor, working with our own hands. We are cursed and blessed; we endure persecution and endure; 13) we listen to blasphemy and pray; we have become like rubbish to this world, dirt to everyone, even to this day. 14) I am not writing this to shame you, but as my beloved children, I admonish you. 15) For although you have ten thousand teachers in Christ, yet you have not many fathers. For I have begotten you in Christ Jesus through the gospel. 16) So, I beg you: imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. 17) For this reason I sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved son and faithful in the Lord; who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church. 18) Since I am not coming to you, some are puffed up [with pride].
19) I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills; and I know not the words of the inflated, but the power. 20) For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 21) What do you want? Will I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of meekness?
1) It is clearly heard that among you there is fornication, and such fornication as does not exist [even] among the pagans, that a man has his father’s wife! 2) And you are puffed up [with pride], instead of having better grief, so that the one who did this deed would be removed from among you! 3) But I, being absent in body, but present in spirit, have already judged, as if I were with you: the one who did this, 4) in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, having gathered you and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5) to hand over to Satan for the mortification of the flesh, so that the spirit may be saved in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 6) Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little leaven spoils the whole dough? 7) Cleanse out the old leaven, so that you may become new lump, [as] you are unleavened. For our Easter, Christ, is also slain. 8) So let us celebrate: not with old leaven, not with the leaven of wickedness and vice, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9) I wrote in the message: “Do not associate with fornicators.” 10) However, not in general with the fornicators of this world, or the greedy, or kidnappers, or idolaters, otherwise you would have to come out of this world.
11) Now I wrote to you not to communicate if anyone, calling himself a brother, is a fornicator, or avaricious, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or a kidnapper; Don't eat with someone like that. 12) For why should I judge outsiders? Are you not judging internal ones? 13) For God will judge those who are outside. Cast out the evil from yourself.
1) Dare any of you, when dealing with another, to go to court before the wicked, and not before the saints? 2) Do you not know that the saints will judge this world? And if the world is judged by you, are you really unworthy to judge unimportant [cases]? 3) Do you not know that we will judge the angels, how much more the [deeds] of the world? 4) So, if you ever have worldly litigation, then you present the despised in the Church for judgment. 5) To your shame I say: is there really not a single wise man among you who could judge between his brothers? 6) But brother sues brother, and that too from the infidels. 7) At the same time, it is already obviously criminal for you that you have litigation among yourself. Why would you rather not accept [with patience] injustice? Why would you rather not be deceived? 8) But you [yourselves] offend and deceive, and, moreover, your brothers. 9) Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God?
Do not be mistaken: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, 10) nor those who resemble women, nor those who live with men, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor kidnappers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11) And such were some; but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 12) Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is useful; everything is permissible for me, but may I not fall under anyone’s power. 13) Food for the belly, and the belly for food; God will destroy both. The body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14) God raised the Lord and will resurrect us by His power. 15) Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? So, having taken away the members of Christ, will I make them members of a harlot? It won't happen! 16) Or do you not know that whoever has sex with a harlot becomes one body [with her]? “For,” he says, “the two will become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24). 17) He who cleaves to the Lord is one [with Him] spirit. 18) Flee fornication. Every sin that a person commits is outside the body, but whoever commits fornication sins in his body.
19) Do you not know that your members are the temple of the Holy Spirit who dwells in you, which you have from God, and you are not your own? 20) For you were bought with a great price. Glorify and carry God in your body.
1) And what you wrote to me about is that it is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2) For the sake of [avoiding] fornication, let each one have his own wife, and let each one have her own husband. 3) Husband repay his debt to his wife; likewise is the wife to her husband. 4) The wife has no power over her body, but the husband does. Likewise, the husband has no power over his body, but the wife. 5) Do not deviate from each other, except by agreement, for a time to indulge in prayer, and again return to each other, so that Satan does not tempt you because of your intemperance. 6) I say this as an indulgence, not as a command. 7) For I wish that all people were like myself; but everyone has his own gift from God, one this way, the other another. 8) I say to those who are unmarried and to widows: it is good for them if they remain as I do. 9) But if they [cannot] abstain, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to become inflamed. 10) It is not I, but the Lord who commands the married couple: the wife should not leave her husband, - 11) if she leaves, she must remain single, or be reconciled with her husband. And the husband should not send his wife away.
12) To the rest I say, not the Lord: if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she agrees to live with him, let him not send her away. 13) And if a believing wife has an unbelieving husband, and he agrees to live with her, do not send her husband away. 14) For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 15) If the unbeliever leaves, let him leave; the brother or sister in such cases is not subject to slavery; the Lord has called us into the world. 16) For how do you know, wife, whether you will not save your husband? Or how do you, husband, know if you won’t save your wife? 17) Not otherwise than what God has distributed to him, and let everyone do as the Lord called him. And how I teach in all churches. 18) Who was called when he was circumcised? Let him not remove the marks of circumcision. Who is called uncircumcised? Let him not be circumcised. 19) Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God. 20) Let everyone in whom he is called remain in that rank. 21) Are you called to be a slave? Don't worry. But if you can become free, it’s better to take advantage.
22) For a servant who is called in the Lord is a freedman of the Lord; likewise, he who is called free is a servant of Christ. 23) You were bought with a [high] price; do not become slaves of men. 24) Everyone in whom [the title] you are called, brothers, remain in this before God. 25) Regarding virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord, but I give advice as one who has been worthy of mercy from the Lord, so that I may be faithful to Him. 26) So, I consider it best, according to the present necessity, that it is good for a person to be so. 27) Are you related to your wife? Don't look for termination. Have you separated from your wife? Don't look for a wife. 28) Even if you marry, you have not sinned. And if the girl gets married, she will not sin. But such will have tribulations according to the flesh; I feel sorry for you. 29) So, I say this to you, brethren: the time is already short; it remains so that those who have wives must be as if they had not; 30) and those who weep as if they were not weeping; and those who rejoice, as if they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as if they did not own; 31) and those who use this world as if they do not use it; for the image of this world is passing away. 32) I want you to be worry-free.
An unmarried man worries about the Lord's things, how to please the Lord; 33) a married man worries about worldly things, how to please his wife; and it is divided. 34) Both the unmarried woman and the virgin think about the Lord, how to please the Lord, in order to be holy in body and spirit. The married woman thinks about worldly things, how to please her husband. 35) And I say this for your own benefit, not to put fetters on you, but for what is honest and what can give you the strength to cry to the Lord without hindrance. 36) If anyone considers it indecent for himself, in relation to his maiden, that she has passed her age, as he should, let him do what he wants; it is not his sin that she will get married. 37) For whoever is unshakably firm in his heart and, having no need, but being powerful in his will, has decided this in his heart - to keep his maiden, he does well. 38) Therefore, he who marries his maiden does well; and the one who does not connect does better. 39) A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; if her husband dies, she is freed: let her marry whomever she wants, only in the Lord.
40) It will be more blessed if it remains this way, according to my advice; I think that I also have the Spirit of God.
1) We know about what is dedicated to idols, for we all have knowledge; knowledge makes one puffed up [with pride], but love edifies. 2) Whoever thinks of himself that he knows something, still does not know anything as he should know. 3) If anyone loves God, he is known by Him. 4) So, about eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but the One. 5) For, although there are so-called “gods” either in heaven or on earth, since there are many “gods” and many lords, 6) we have only one God - the Father, from whom are all things, and we in Him, and one Lord - Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through Him. 7) But not everyone has the knowledge: some to this day, with a conscience [accustomed to] idols, eat as [sacrifices to the “gods”] sacrificed to idols, and their conscience, because it is weak, is defiled. 8) Food does not commit us to God: for even if we eat, we gain nothing; and if we don’t eat, we don’t lose anything. 9) Be careful that this freedom of yours does not become a temptation for the weak.
10) For if someone sees someone who has knowledge reclining in a church [at a meal], will not his conscience, although weak, be edified to eat something sacrificed to idols? 11) And from your knowledge the weak brother for whose sake Christ died will perish. 12) In the same way, by sinning against your brothers and striking their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13) For this reason, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.
1) Am I not free? Am I not an Apostle? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my business in the Lord? 2) And if for others I am not an Apostle, but for you I am [an Apostle]; for the seal of my apostleship is you in the Lord. 3) My defense before those “interrogating” me, this is it. 4) Do we really not have the power to eat and drink? 5) Do we really not have the power to have a female sister as a companion, like the other Apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? 6) Or do I and Barnabas alone have no power to do this? 7) Who performs military service at their own expense when? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat from its fruit? Who feeds the flock and does not eat the milk of the flock? 8) Am I really saying this out of humanity? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? 9) For in the Law of Moses it is written: “You shall not tie the mouth of an ox that is threshing” (Deut. 25:4). Does God really care about oxen? 10) Or, of course, does this speak for us? For it is written for us; because he who plows must plow with hope; and who threshes in the hope of obtaining fruit. 11) If we have sown spiritual things in you, is it great if we reap bodily things from you? 12) If others are involved in power over you, why not us more?
However, we did not use this power, but we endure everything, so as not to put any obstacle to the gospel of Christ. 13) Do you not know that those who work in the sanctuary are fed from the sanctuary; and that those who serve the altar share [in the share] of the altar? 14) So the Lord established for those who proclaim the Gospel to live from the gospel. 15) I didn’t use anything like that. I didn’t write this so that it would be like this for me. For it is better for me to die than for anyone to destroy my praise. 16) For if I preach the gospel, this is no praise to me, for necessity prompts me to do this, for woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! 17) For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; if it is involuntary, I am [only] entrusted with the management of the house. 18) What is my reward for? Because, preaching the Gospel, I preach the gospel free of charge, so as not to abuse my power in the gospel. 19) For while I am free from everyone, I have made myself a slave to everyone, so that I could gain more.
20) And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win the Jews; 21) to those under the law I was as one under the law (when I am not under the law), in order to gain those under the law; to those who are strangers to the Law, as one who is stranger to the Law (when I am not a stranger to the law before God, but under the law of Christ), so that I may win those who are strangers to the Law. 22) To the weak I became weak in order to win the weak. I became everything to everyone in order to save everyone. 23) Yet I do this for the sake of the Gospel, so that I may become a partaker of it. 24) Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the reward? So run to grab it! 25) Everyone who strives to fight abstains from everything: and this is what he [needs] in order to receive a perishable crown, but for us - an incorruptible one. 26) And therefore I do not run as if towards something doubtful, I do not fight as if I were hitting the air; 27) But I wear out my body and enslave it, so that, having preached to others, I myself would not be rejected.
1) I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2) and everyone was baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3) and everyone ate the same spiritual food; 4) and everyone drank the same spiritual drink (they drank from the spiritual stone that followed them; the stone was Christ); 5) But God was not pleased with many of them, for they were laid in the wilderness. 6) These became images for us, so that we would not lust after evil, as they lustfully did. 7) And do not become idolaters, like some of them, as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play” (Ex. 32:6). 8) And let us not commit fornication, as some of them committed fornication, and in one day twenty-three thousand of them fell. 9) And we will not tempt Christ, as some of them were tempted and were killed by snakes. 10) And do not murmur, as some of them murmured and were killed by the destroyer. 11) Yet this happened to them as a type; but it was written for the admonition of us, whom the end of the ages has come. 12) So, let anyone who considers himself standing be careful not to fall.
13) No temptation has befallen you other than human; But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will create an escape along with the temptation, that you may be able to bear it. 14) For this reason, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 15) As I say to the prudent; You can judge for yourself what I’m saying. 16) Is not the cup of blessing that we bless a communion of the Blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a communion of the Body of Christ? 17) since there is one bread, we are many - one body, all partaking of one bread. 18) Look at Israel according to the flesh: are they not partakers of the altar who eat the sacrifices? 19) What then? Am I saying that something sacrificed to idols is something? Or that an idol is something? 20) [No]; but that the pagans, when making sacrifices, offer to demons, and not to God. I don’t want to make you associates with demons. 21) You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; You cannot be participants in the table of the Lord and in the table of demons. 22) Shall we awaken the jealousy of the Lord? Are we stronger than Him? Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial.
23) Everything is lawful for me, but not everything edifies. 24) Let no one seek his own [benefit], but the [benefit] of another. 25) Eat everything that is sold at the market without examining anything, for the sake of [peace of] conscience. 26) “The earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness” (Ps. 23:1; Sir. 17:31). 27) If one of the disbelievers calls you and you want to go, eat everything that is offered to you without examining anything, for the sake of [peace of] conscience. 28) If someone says to you: “This is sacrificed to idols,” do not eat for the sake of the one who declared, and for the sake of [peace of] conscience. 29) I’m not talking about your conscience, but another’s. For why should my freedom be judged by someone else’s conscience? 30) If I partake [of the meal] with thanksgiving, why do they blaspheme me for what I give thanks for? 31) So, whether you eat, drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God. 32) Be not a cause of temptation either to Jews or to pagans, or to the Church of God, 33) just as I please everyone in everything, not seeking my advantage, but that of many, so that they may be saved.
1) Be imitators of me, just as I am of Christ. 2) I praise you, brothers, that you remember everything I have and, as I conveyed to you, adhere to my instructions. 3) I also want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, but the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. 4) Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5) Every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is the same as if she were shaved. 6) For if a woman does not cover herself, let her have her hair cut. If it is shameful for a woman to cut her hair or be shaved, let her cover her head. 7) Moreover, a man should not cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; woman is the glory of man. 8) For she must have on her head [the sign] of power [over her], for the Angels. 11) However, neither is husband without wife, nor wife without husband, in the Lord. 12) For as woman is from man, so is man through woman; yet it is from God. 13) Judge for yourself, is it proper for a woman to pray to God uncovered?
14) Doesn’t nature itself teach you that if a husband also grows hair, this is a dishonor for him, 15) if a woman grows hair, for her it is glory, because hair is given to her instead of a veil? 16) If anyone is inclined to argue, we do not have such a custom, nor does the Church of God. 17) I prescribe this, not praising, that you are not planning for the best, but for the worst. 18) First of all, I hear that when you gather for church, there are divisions among you, which I partly believe. 19) For there must also be heresies, so that those who are tested may appear among you. 20) So, when you come together, this does not mean eating the Lord's supper. 21) For each of you eats his supper first, and some are hungry, and others are drunk. 22) Don’t you have houses to eat and drink? Or do you neglect the Church of God and shame the poor? What will I tell you? Do I praise you? I don't praise you for this. 23) For I received from the Lord, which I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread 24) and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said: “Take and eat; This is My Body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.
25) In the same way he also took the cup, after he had supped, saying: “This cup is the New Testament in My Blood; Do this whenever you drink, in remembrance of Me.” 26) For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until He comes. 27) Therefore, everyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of the Body and Blood of the Lord. 28) Let man examine himself, and so let him eat of this bread and drink from this cup. 29) For whoever eats and drinks unworthily eats and drinks judgment on himself, not considering the Body of the Lord. 30) For this reason many of you are weak and sick, and many have fallen asleep. 31) For if we judged ourselves, we would not be judged. 32) Being judged, we are punished by the Lord, so as not to be condemned with this world. 33) So, my brothers, when you gather together to eat, wait for one another. 34) If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that you do not gather into condemnation. I’ll arrange the rest when I come.
1) I don’t want to leave you, brothers, in the dark about [spiritual matters]. 2) You know that when you were pagans, you went to silent idols as if drawn. 3) Therefore I make it known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will pronounce anathema against Jesus. And no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. 4) There are differences in graces, but the Spirit is one and the same; 5) and there are differences in ministries, but the Lord is one and the same; 6) and there are differences in actions, but God is one and the same, producing everything in everyone. 7) Everyone is given the manifestation of the Spirit for his benefit. 8) To one is given the word of wisdom by the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9) faith to another, by the same Spirit; to others the grace of healings in one Spirit; 10) to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another divers kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of speeches. 11) Yet all these things are done by one and the same Spirit, distributing to each one individually as he wills. 12) For just as the body is one, but has many members, yet they are all members of one body, although there are many, they are one body, so is Christ.
13) For we were all baptized in one Spirit into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether slaves or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink. 14) For the body is not one member, but many. 15) If the foot says: “I do not belong to the body, because I am not a hand,” does it really not belong to the body? 16) And if the ear says: “I do not belong to the body, because I am not an eye,” does it really therefore not belong to the body? 17) If the whole body is eyes, where is the hearing? If everything is hearing, where is the sense of smell? 18) Now God has placed the members of each of them in the body as He willed. 19) And if everyone had one member, where is the body? 20) Now, behold, there are many members, but one body. 21) The eye cannot say to the hand: “I do not need your action”; or again head to feet: “I don’t need you.” 22) But how much more, the members of the body that seem weakest are much more necessary, 23) and which seem to us to be less noble members of the body, we surround them with the most abundant honor; and our dishonorable [members] are covered with abundant honor. 24) Our honorable [members] have no need for anything.
But God proportioned the body, and whatever is lacking is given more honor, 25) so that there would be no schism in the body, but the members would also take care of each other. 26) And if one member suffers, all members suffer with it; or one member is glorified, all members rejoice with it. 27) You are the body of Christ, and members from member. 28) And God appointed some in the Church, firstly as apostles, secondly as prophets, then as teachers; further, powers [miraculous], then graces of healing, help, government, various kinds of tongues, interpretation of speeches. 29) Are they all Apostles? Are they all prophets? Are they all teachers? 30) Does everyone [have] [miraculous] powers? Does everyone really have the grace of healing? Does everyone really speak in tongues? Are all interpreters? 31) Be zealous for great gifts. And I will show you an even more excellent way.
1) If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but do not have love, I have become like sounding brass and a clanging cymbal. 2) And if I have prophecy, and know all mysteries, and all knowledge; and although I have all the faith, so much so that I could move mountains (cf. Matt. 17:19), but I do not have love, I am nothing. 3) And if I give all my property to the poor for food, and if I give my body to burn, but I do not have love, it does me no good. 4) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, love does not act pervertedly, is not inflated [with pride], 5) is not ambitious, does not seek its own, is not irritated, does not think evil, 6) does not rejoice over untruth, but rejoices in the truth; 7) endures everything, believes everything, hopes everything, endures everything. 8) Love never fails, whether prophecies fail, tongues cease, or knowledge fails. 9) For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10) When that which is perfect comes, that which is partial will be taken away. 11) When I was a baby, I spoke like a baby, I thought like a baby. When he became a husband, he eliminated what was proper for minors. 12) Now we see fortune-telling in the mirror, but then face to face.
Now I know in part, then I will know, just as I am also known. 13) Now remain: faith, hope, love [caritas], these three; The greatest of these is love.
1) Overtake love; be zealous for spiritual [gifts], especially that you prophesy. 2) For he who speaks in tongues does not speak to men, but to God; for no one hears / understands him /. By the Spirit he speaks secrets. 3) For whoever prophesies speaks to people for edification, admonition, and comfort. 4) He who speaks in tongues edifies himself; whoever prophesies edifies the Church of God. 5) I wish that you all spoke in tongues; It's better to prophesy. For he who prophesies is more excellent than he who speaks in tongues, unless he is immediately made clear, so that the church may be edified. 6) Now, brethren, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what benefit will I bring you unless I speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in teaching? 7) And soulless [things] that produce sound, be it a pipe or a harp, if they do not give separate sounds, how is it recognized that it sings [the pipe] or plays the harp? 8) And if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle? 9) Likewise, if you do not utter intelligible words with your tongue, how will they know what is being said?
After all, you will be talking into the wind. 10) There are so many, as I believe, kinds of languages in this world, and not one of them is silent. 11) If I do not understand the power of words, then to the one to whom I speak I will be a barbarian, and the one who speaks to me will be a barbarian. 12) So you also, since you are zealous for spiritual [gifts], for the edification of the church, strive to be enriched [by them]. 13) Therefore, let him who speaks in tongues pray for the interpretation of himself. 14) For if I pray in tongues, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15) So what? I will pray with my spirit, I will also pray with my mind; I will sing psalms with the spirit, and I will sing psalms with the mind. 16) Moreover, if you bless with the spirit, how will one standing in the place of a commoner say: “Amen” to your blessing? Because he doesn't know what you're saying. 17) For you, behold, give thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18) I thank my God that I speak all your languages. 19) But in church I would rather speak five words with my feeling, in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in tongues. 20) Brothers! Do not become children in your mind, but be infants in evil, and be perfect in feeling.
21) The Law says: “For with other tongues and with other lips I will speak to this people, but even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord” (Is. 28:11-12). 22) So tongues are a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers; prophecy is not for unbelievers, but for those who believe. 23) If the whole church comes together, and everyone begins to speak in tongues, those who do not know or who do not believe come in to you, will they not say that you are unwell? 24) If everyone prophesies, and someone who does not believe or does not know enters, he is convicted by everyone, judged by everyone; 25) the secrets of his heart will be revealed, and so he, falling on his face, will worship God, saying that truly God is with you. 26) What then, brothers? When you come together, each of you has a psalm, there is a teaching, there is a revelation, there is a tongue, there is an interpretation, let everything be for edification. 27) If someone speaks in a tongue, [speak] two, or many three, and separately, and explain one. 28) If there is no interpreter, let him remain silent in the church and speak to himself and to God. 29) Let two or three prophets speak, and let the rest reason. 30) If there is a revelation to another of those sitting, let the first one remain silent.
31) For you can all prophesy individually, so that all may learn and all may be encouraged. 32) And the spirits of the prophets are obedient to the prophets, 33) for God is not [the God of] discord, but of peace. As in all churches, I teach from the saints. 34) Let women remain silent in churches, for they are not allowed to speak, but to be in subjection, as the law says. 35) If they want to learn something, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. 36) Has the word of God come from you? Or did it reach you alone? 37) If anyone is considered a prophet or spiritual, let him understand that I am writing to you, for [these are] the commandments of the Lord. 38) If anyone does not understand, he will not be known. 39) Therefore, brethren, be zealous to prophesy, and do not forbid anyone to speak in tongues. 40) Let everything be done decently and in order.
1) I declare to you, brethren, the Gospel which I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2) by which you are saved; in this sense I have preached the gospel to you, if you hold [my gospel], unless you have believed in vain. 3) For I originally conveyed to you what I also [myself] received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, 4) and that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures, 5) and that Cephas was seen, and after that to the eleven; 6) then he was seen by more than five hundred brethren at the same time, many of whom remained [alive] even to this day, while some died; 7) then he was seen by Jacob, then by all the Apostles; 8) after all, as to a certain monster, he appeared to me. 9) For I am the least of the Apostles, who is not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God. 10) By the grace of God I am what I am; and His grace in me was not in vain, but I labored more than all of them: not I, however, but the grace of God with me. 11) For whether it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is how you believe.
12) If it is preached about Christ that He rose from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13) If there is no resurrection of the dead, [then] Christ has not been raised. 14) If Christ has not been resurrected, then our preaching is in vain, and so is your faith. 15) Moreover, we would also turn out to be false witnesses about God, because we would bear witness against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if the dead do not rise. 16) For if the dead are not raised, [then] Christ has not been raised. 17) But if Christ is not risen, your faith is in vain: for you are still in your sins. 18) Therefore those who slept in Christ also perished. 19) And if in this life only we hope in Christ, we are the most pitiful of all people. 20) But now Christ has risen from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21) Because death is through man, and through man the resurrection of the dead. 22) And just as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will live, 23) each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then those who are Christ’s who believed in His coming.
24) Then the end, when He hands over the Kingdom to God and the Father, when He abolishes all rulership and authority and power. 25) He must reign until He has put all enemies under His feet. 26) The last enemy to be destroyed is death, for He has put everything under His feet. When He says: 27) “Everything is subjected to Him,” [then] without a doubt that except the One who subjected everything to Him. 28) When all things are submitted to Him, then the Son Himself will submit to Him who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all. 29) Otherwise, what will those who are baptized do for the dead, if the dead obviously do not rise? Why are they baptized for them? 30) Why are we exposed to danger every hour? 31) I “die” daily for your glory, brothers, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32) If, according to human reasoning, what good is it for me to fight the beasts in Ephesus, since the dead are not raised? Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die! 33) Do not be seduced: “Bad conversations corrupt good morals” (Menander, “Faida”). 34) Awake, O righteous ones, and do not sin; for, to your “honor,” I will say, some of you do not know God.
35) But someone will say: “How then will the dead be raised? In what body will they come?” 36) Reckless! What you sow will not come to life unless it dies. 37) And when you sow, you do not sow the future body, but bare grain, like wheat or some other grain; 38) God gives him a body as he wants, and to each seed his own body. 39) Not all flesh is the same flesh; but there is another one among men, another among cattle, another among birds, and another among fish. 40) And [there are] heavenly bodies and earthly bodies; but the glory of the heavenly is different, and the glory of the earthly is different. 41) There is a different clarity of the sun, a different clarity of the moon, and a different clarity of the stars. For star differs from star in clarity: 42) so it is with the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, raised in incorruption. 43) It is sown in humiliation, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in strength; 44) the spiritual body is sown, the spiritual body is raised. If there is a spiritual body, there is also a spiritual body, as it is written: 45) “The first man Adam became a living soul” (Gen. 2:7); the last Adam is a life-giving spirit. 46) But not the spiritual first, but the natural, then the spiritual. 47) The first man is from the earth, earthly; the second Man is from heaven, heavenly.
48) As is the earthly, so are the earthly; and as is the heavenly, so are the heavenly. 49) So, just as we have borne the image of earthly things, let us also bear the image of heavenly things. 50) This I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, and corruption does not inherit incorruption. 51) Behold, I tell you a secret: we will not all die, but we will all be changed 52) suddenly, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise incorruptible, and we will be changed. 53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54) When this mortal is clothed with immortality, then the word written will come true: “Death is swallowed up in victory” (Is. 25:8). 55) “Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting? ( Hos. 13:14 ). 56) The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the Law. 57) Thanks be to God, who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 58) Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
1) As for the collection for the saints, as I commanded the churches of Galatia, so do you. 2) On the first [day of the week after] Saturday, let each of you set aside for himself, accumulating as he pleases, so that [this] does not happen - when I come, then [there will be] collections. 3) When I am present, whomever you approve in your letters, I will send them to take your gift to Jerusalem. 4) And if it is decent for me to go, they will go with me. 5) I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia; for I will go through Macedonia. 6) Perhaps I’ll stay with you, or even spend the winter, so that you can accompany me wherever I go. 7) I don’t want to see you now in passing, because I hope to stay with you for some time, if the Lord allows. 8) I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost, 9) for a great and wonderful door has been opened for me, and there are many adversaries. 10) If Timothy comes, see that he is with you without fear; for he is doing the Lord’s work, just as I do. 11) Therefore let no one despise him, but see him off in peace, so that he may come to me, for I am waiting for him with the brethren.
12) As for brother Apollos, I bring to your attention that I begged him a lot so that he would come to you with the brethren; but there was absolutely no will for him to come now; he will come when he has time for this. 13) Watch, stand firm in the faith, act courageously, and be strong. 14) Let everything with you be in love. 15) I beseech you, brethren, that you know the house of Stephen, and Fortunatus, and Achaic, that they are the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have destined themselves for the service of the saints, 16) and let you be subject to them, and to everyone who cooperates and works. 17) I rejoice in the presence of Stephen, and Fortunatus, and Achaic: because they themselves filled for me what was missing from you, 18) for they cooled my spirit and yours. Know therefore that they are such. 19) The churches of Asia greet you; Most of all, Aquila and Priscilla and their home church greet you in the Lord, with whom I am visiting. 20) All the brothers greet you. Greet each other with a holy kiss. 21) Greetings with my hand - Paul. 22) If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, be anathema, maran-afa. 23) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you.
24) My love is with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
