I am grateful to the most merciful Lord that you and your sisters celebrated the feast of the Resurrection of Christ in peace of spirit: however, this must be sought not from outside, but from within; in proportion to humility, peace is also granted, according to the true words of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:29), and according to the experiences of the spiritual fathers, who tempted themselves and left us with examples of their life and teaching for strengthening; and henceforth may the Lord give you and me true reason, so that, seeing our ulcers, we can humble our wisdom and consider ourselves worthy of all contempt and humiliation. How can we teach others when we ourselves are alien to the practice of virtue? I read all your stories without getting bored, after taking part in you; but I find it unnecessary to give an answer to any matter, or to reason about it, and there is not enough time; and what is necessary, I admonish the Lord according to your faith, I dare to write. Entrusting all of you sisters in Christ to the protection of God, and desiring peace, health and salvation, I remain your unworthy pilgrim, the great sinner I.M. You might be interested in:
