Blessed is he who comes and looks with amazement at the struggle of Joseph, who is victorious. All men became like members of one body; all wives are like sisters to each other, and like those who bear the same yoke. And let unanimity shine among us - this is the mirror of peace. Blessed is the Pure One, who presented us with pure images even in the ark! Three lepotas amaze and amuse the eye in the month of Nissan (March), in which the Only Begotten shone in resurrection and was glorified. The earth is dressed in various colors, the air is filled with various birds, the sky is clothed with light rays. Just as they were clothed with sorrow at His death, so they are clothed with splendor on the day of His resurrection. The year brings the worship of the Son, the father of all months, the source of days, hours and minutes. The months praise the Lord of the months. The year honors Him in the person of her beloved Nissan, just as Rachel, in the person of Jacob, bowed to Joseph, who was the image of the Son and to whom the sun and moon, the lords of years, therefore bowed. On the full moon of Nissan, the lamb gained victory in Egypt and destroyed the oppressed. The pillar of fire and cloud brought joy to the people of God and showed them the way. On the full moon of Nissan, the true Lamb darkened the sun with His glorious death. And since the apostates repaid so perversely what they owed to the Truth, the Holy Spirit crushed this people. The two lambs, the two Passovers, the Egyptian Passover and the Zion Passover are different. On the Passover of Egypt the pagans were destroyed and the Jews saved; on the Passover of Zion the pagans were saved and the circumcised were uprooted. The light of this full moon is joyful. The full moon of Nisan was saddened by the darkening of the sun, but its full moon became joyful among the pagans, because their holidays became bright. In the month of Nissan our Lord paid the debts of the old Adam; in the month of Nisan He shed sweat for the sweat of Adam, He took His Cross for the tree of Adam; on the sixth day, the sixth day, by His entry, returned paradise to the thief. Probably the month of Adam's fall was Nissan. Just as the day of the Lord’s death corresponds to the day of Adam’s fall, so it is fitting that the months should correspond to each other.
