Noah comforted the working people no less by inventing grape wine to rejoice the human heart, which will be discussed later. Most of all, in his prophecy: “This one will give us rest,” speaking about his son, Lamech also foresaw with spiritual eyes that consolation that was the hope of salvation for the entire human race, which would be realized with the coming of the Messiah. He seemed to be saying the following: this one, after the flood, will be the father and renewer of the human race, and from his tribe will come the Savior, who will be for us deliverance from the oath, joy and joy. Truly, our Savior Christ is joy and joy for all the righteous. After the birth of Noah, Lamech lived in childbearing for 565 years and gave birth to many sons and daughters. When narrating about Noah’s invention of plowing the land, let us remember the word about agriculture of St. Chrysostom, who says the following: “Of all the arts, the most necessary is agriculture, which was introduced from the beginning by God when He created man” (Chrysostom. On the Second Epistle to the Corinthians, chapter 7, conversation 15). This great saint calls agriculture the first and most necessary of all arts; the first because it was at the beginning commanded by God to Adam: “In the sweat of your face,” it is said, “thou shalt take away your bread” (Gen. 3:19); the most necessary because every person needs bread first of all for food: it is necessary for kings, princes and rulers just as much as for the poor. Of course, there are many other different arts and crafts necessary for human life, but all of them are in relation to agriculture service ones. For which artist, even the wisest, does not seek bread? Another reason why agriculture is worthy of praise is that it is righteous, while other arts or activities are not without sin: some lie, others steal, others deceive; Agriculture is free from such vices. Any other occupation only feeds the artist, but agriculture feeds everyone in general, the worker and the non-worker. Oh, how many people eat bread for nothing - it is impossible to count them! Different people feed on unrighteous gains in different ways: some from robbery and theft, others from theft and robbery, others from rape and torture, and others from some other unpleasing trade. Only agriculture, from the labor of its hands and from the sweat of its brow, has its righteous and godly sustenance, since it does not offend anyone, but only itself suffers insults from everyone, for it is burdened with so many taxes and is raped by the powerful. And it is truly amazing that such an occupation, the primary, most necessary and righteous, is considered a dishonorable occupation by those who are accustomed to boasting about their nobility. But what is dishonorable about the occupation in which our first and foremost forefathers, from whom we all descended, the forefathers Adam and Noah, worked - one before the flood, and the other after the flood, Adam digging, and Noah plowing, cultivating the land. And what do you have, O noble one, in your birth that is higher than that of a farmer, except only the name of your nobility? You are from the same decay as he, and the same, and not a different, image of your birth, as his, and to the same earth and dust you will return, to which he was, and even the glory of your nobility will not go to the grave and hell with you. In the ancient narratives there is a legend that worthy men were elevated to the royal throne from agriculture, who reigned safely and gloriously. Such was the Czech Premysl, and such was the Polish Piast. But in the Old Testament we read about the same thing: was it not from agriculture that the Lord called the strong man Gideon for dominion and control of His people of Israel and shows him as the glorious conqueror of the Midianites? But didn’t the holy prophet Elijah take Elisha as a prophet from the plow? Let no one humiliate farmers in their craftiness, for from their midst come kings and saints of God! Well, the venerable fool for Christ's sake, Simeon, before his death, said to his friend Deacon John, saying: “Among the simple people living in villages and cultivating the land, who, living their lives in kindness and the rightness of their hearts, do not blaspheme or offend anyone, but eat their bread from the labor of their hands in the sweat of their brow, among such many are great saints; for I saw them coming into the city, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ and becoming like pure gold.” Maleleel, the son of the Cainans, the father of the Jareds, died - according to Russian Bibles in 1590 from the beginning of the world, and according to chronographs in 1690.
