ЖИЗНЬ ЧЕЛОВЕЧЕСКАЯ

Whoever you are, man, remember that you are very close to insignificance and in your being insignificant. “All nations are as nothing before Him” (Isaiah 40:17), says the prophet. In order to be something, cling by faith and love to Him from Whom all being is, and then you will be something. “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace” (John 1:16). What have you got if you haven't accepted it? In fact, what does your individual life mean as part of this common infinite life? Almost nothing. She is like steam: she appears and soon disappears. “What is your life? a vapor that appears for a little while and then disappears” (James 4:14). There is one God. Reverence the Source of all life and cleave to Him if you want to enjoy real, abiding life - in Heaven. Live, paying attention to yourself, and prepare for the outcome of your affairs. And it is good for me: to unite with God, to place my trust in the Lord (Ps. 72:28) (10). The life of each person is like a fire that the Lord kindled from His breath of life for a certain period, after which it must go out in this world and flare up with a better, brighter flame in another world under certain conditions on the part of man (10). Don’t you see, man, that your thought often takes you away from this troubled life beyond the boundaries of this world and that it is so easy, easy for it there! Learn from this that your purpose is not limited to life on the globe, but goes far beyond its borders (10). People incorrectly look at their life as property, which they supposedly have the right to dispose of in their own way: it is a gift from God; The Lord takes her when He pleases.
