Interpretation of the prophet Micah

“Commentary on the Prophet Micah” is part of the “Commentary on the 12 Minor Prophets,” written by Blessed. Theodoret of Cyrus in the 30-40s. V century at the request of friends. He uses a typological method of interpretation and pays sufficient attention to clarifying the chronology of the prophet's life. The commentary is a sequential presentation of all 7 chapters of the Book of the Prophet Micah. Blzh. Theodoret examines the prophecies about the Messiah, connecting them with the Christian teaching about salvation through Christ. Approaching the prophecy of the godly wise Micah, I remembered the Lord’s word that the Lord spoke in the Holy Gospel, depicting the depravity and ingratitude of the Jews: “In Jerusalem, in Jerusalem, you beat the Prophets and stoned those who were sent to you, since your fellow children desired as much as they gathered cocosh for their chicks under the wing, and did not desire” ( Matt. 23, 37). For, having granted prophetic grace to many and great men, he appointed them doctors of the grave ulcers of Israel. One of them was blessed Micah, who predicted the same thing that was predicted by those wonderful men, Hosea, Joel and Amos. And the Lord God, through the mouths of many, foretells the same thing, so that those who are sick with insensibility will be ashamed of the multitude of Prophets, although they were late freed from wickedness and a vicious life.
